James L. (Jim) Cornwell joined the Firm in 2008. Mr. Cornwell is an attorney licensed to practice law in Idaho and the Federal District of Idaho.

Mr. Cornwell‘s background includes industrial and commercial electrical power and lighting system design, design and programming of digital building automation systems. He also has extensive experience supporting and troubleshooting aircraft electrical power generation and distribution systems and aircraft lighting systems.

Mr. Cornwell received a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Idaho. He is a licensed Professional Engineer (Electrical) in Idaho and Washington. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Idaho in 2002.

Scott D. Swanson is a registered patent attorney who joined the Firm in 2008. Mr. Swanson has been registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office since March of 2007 and has been a licensed attorney (Utah) since October of 2007. Scott is an Idaho native, born and raised in Pocatello, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from the University of Idaho. Mr. Swanson attended Ave Maria School of Law in Ann Arbor, Michigan, on a full tuition scholarship.

In addition to his professional interests, Mr. Swanson enjoys spending time outdoors flyfishing, mountain biking, and downhill skiing. Mr. Swanson is an avid fly fisherman and fly tier who can often be seen with a fly rod on Idaho’s lakes and rivers throughout the year.
